Asma Shirazi, a TV Journalist in Pakistan, speaks with Japan Up Close on the subjects of education, women, and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan. The discussion includes some of the highlights of her visit to Japan, including the people she was able to meet with. On the subject of education, she talks about the state of education in Pakistan and her observations after visits to schools in Japan and talking with educators here.

She also talks about opportunities for women in Pakistan, particularly in education and the workforce, and similar issues that are faced by women in Japan. With regard to bilateral relations between our two countries, she recalls the positive influences that Japan had on her childhood, and the ways in which we can continue to have a fruitful relationship that benefits the people of both our nations.
