Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the way we think of technology. Rather than simply using automated systems to do set tasks faster, AI is now allowing us to create systems that can approach unexpected situations and find their own solutions. In this interview, Japan Up Close speaks with Tiago Ramalho, founder and CEO of Recursive, a Japan-based tech company looking to apply AI solutions to many of the social challenges that are the focus of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Tiago shares his thoughts on the many ways in which AI has the potential to truly improve our quality of life, how the Japanese market approaches the adoption of AI a little differently, and some of the potential pitfalls that must be avoided when developing new solutions.
