Japan in Photos: Seven – five – three

One of the traditional coming-of-age ceremonies in Japan is called Shichigosan, or Seven-Five-Three. During November, children at those ages dress up in suits or kimonos and visit local Shinto shrines, where they pray for good fortune as they grow up. Parents often take this opportunity to take family photos together.
