Once the rainy season ends, Japan’s scorching-hot summer begins. One popular way of cooling down is enjoying a bowl of kakigōri, or shaved ice. The ice is most commonly flavored with fruit syrups and cream, but a wide variety of other toppings are also popular, including green tea, red beans, and many more.
