One of Nagasaki’s most famous festivals, the Nagasaki Kunchi began as a harvest celebration in the 16th century with the founding of Suwa Shrine. Held over three days during early October, the festival reflects the influences of Dutch and Chinese culture on the city, and includes float parades and dragon dances.
