Constitution Memorial Day is a national holiday observed on the 3rd of May as part of Japan’s “Golden Week”. On this day people reflect on the meaning of democracy and Japanese governance and reminisce on Japan’s history. The National Diet is open to the public on this day for complimentary tours of the building.
