Japan has a wide variety of wildflowers growing throughout the country, each coming into bloom in its own season. In November, as the weather starts to get cool, fields of cosmos flowers open up with blossoms of brilliant pink and purple, giving the flower the nickname of “autumn’s cherry blossoms”. Gardens of cosmos can be found throughout the country, from Nagasaki Prefecture in the south, all the way to the north island of Hokkaido.
