The Nagasaki Lantern Festival is a celebration which started with the Chinese community in Nagasaki, associated with the Chinese Spring Festival and Chinese New Year celebration. The festival has since outgrown its original neighborhood and over 15 days the whole of Nagasaki is lit up with over 15,000 lit up lanterns.
