Every Year during the Golden Week Holiday in May, Hiroshima hosts a large-scale Flower Festival. Lasting three days, the festival includes parades down the central Peace Avenue, concerts, performances, and other attractions that draw nearly a million visitors each year. At night, candlelit paper flowers are set adrift on the river.
