Annually held on the 25th of February in the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto, the Baikasai Plum Blossom festival showcases Japan’s great beauties: plum blossoms and geisha. One of the main events of the festival is the Japanese tea ceremony, served outside by maiko, or apprentice geisha, where people can enjoy hot matcha tea and traditional Japanese treats.
