The Yokote Kamakura Festival is an annual event held on the 15th and 16th of February in the city of Yokote in Akita Prefecture. The festival features many igloo snow houses called kamakura, which are built at various locations across the city. Hundreds of small kamakura are illuminated by candles along the Yokote River, creating a beautiful scenery of lights in the dusk.
