The Sanja Matsuri is one of the largest Shinto festivals in Tokyo, held in honor of the three men who founded the Sensoji Buddist temple. The festival is held on the third weekend of May at Asakusa Shrine and revolves around three mikoshi shrines being carried throughout the neighborhood in a lively parade.
