September 29, 2021
The Seiryu-e, also known as the festival of the blue dragon, is an event where an 18m long dragon is carried through the temples and surrounding streets of the Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto. The dragon is accompanied by other temple deities and traditional music is often played to announce the procession of the dragon. The festival is held three times a year, in March and April, and then again in September.
