Japan in Photos – The Other Fuji
March 09, 2022
In addition to being the Emperor’s birthday, February 23 is also known as Mt Fuji Day. While nearly everyone knows about Japan’s tallest peak, there is a lesser-known mountain that shares its name – at least for some. Mt. Iino in Kagawa Prefecture has been nicknamed “the Sanuki Fuji” locally for its symmetrical shape and gentle slope. At only 420 meters tall, it is just a fraction of the height of its famous cousin, but it still makes a beautiful silhouette against the landscape.
