The "Seihaku Festival" is held every May at Otokonushi Shrine in Nanao City, Ishikawa prefecture. It is the largest and best known festival on Ishikawa's famous Noto Peninsula, and was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016. This festaival features some of the largest floats in Japan. Called "dekayama (big mountains), " they are as tall as 12m weigh as much as 20 tons, and are carried on 2m wheels. Three neighborhoods dedicate their respective floats and compete to be the most majestic. Watching the enormous wheels turning is a sight that attracts many spectators.
