Since last year, Seibu Railway, headquartered in Saitama Prefecture, has been using electricity generated by solar power stations operated by the company to power some of its routes. The line operates with virtually zero CO2 emissions. In addition, the group's bus company operates some routes using "Euglena biodiesel fuel" calibrated from microalgae Euglena and used cooking oil. Each transportation company in Japan is conscious of contributing to SDGs and is working to achieve their goal in line with the government's plan for carbon neutrality.
