Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is now collaborating with a private company on the "Mishima Whiskey Project" utilizing digital technology (Web 3.0). Mishima City has taken advantage of its abundance of spring water from Mt. Fuji to introduce web 3.0 into the whiskey planning, production, and sales process, and has sold tokens on a crowdfunding site. Holders of these tokens are granted the right to purchase whiskey and participate in the production and sales process. Mishima City believes that the token holders, both domestic and international, will be involved not only as consumers, but also in the whisky production process, which will lead to a more continuous involvement in the region. This project is one of the government's model projects for regional development.
