The 2023 G7 Summit, to be held in May, will take place in Hiroshima Prefecture. Hiroshima is located in the Chugoku region, west of Osaka, and is the largest prefecture in the Chugoku region and the 11th largest in Japan. Hiroshima has many tourist attractions, including Miyajima Island and the Atomic Bomb Dome, both of which are registered as World Heritage sites. Hiroshima City is home to Hiroshima Castle, and is served by an extensive network of streetcars. Hiroshima is also blessed with abundant water sources from the Seto Inland Sea, and six rivers flowing through the city. Hiroshima's waterfront has been developed under the municipal "City of Water" initiative, and a wide variety of events and other recreation opportunities are available there. The food of Hiroshima is also popular among tourists, who come to enjoy the region's high-quality oysters, and dishes such as okonomiyaki.
