While many think of Tokyo as a city of skyscrapers, if you walk around the nation's capital you will notice that there are many greenspaces and small parks, with many places where flowers are planted and trees are maintained. In addition to improving the city's beauty, urban greening is a necessary countermeasure to the heat island effect that has become worse because of global climate chaneg. Public parks that require fees are free of charge in October, making this a great opportunity to become familiar with greenery and to think about its importance.
